| Strathmore Minor Soccer Federation, a volunteer operated organization, believes it is the responsibility of all registered families to contribute and support their child’s recreational pursuit by being involved through volunteering.
Some examples of the Seasonal volunteer roles:
Coach – lead and support the learning of the skills and game of soccer
Assistant Coach – support coach and team
Team Manager – communicate information to be shared with team, coordinates other volunteers.
Hall Monitor – ensures no one in school hallways during practices
Team Photo Representative – liaisons with Photo Coordinator to organize arrival and assembly of team.
Wind-Up – Under 4, Under 6, and Under 8 party volunteers in a variety of roles.
Board Members:
President – Liaise with SSDSA, CMSA and other organizations, coordinating efforts of Board
Vice/Co-President – as President’s duties
Secretary – attends all meetings, records minutes, distributes minutes in a timely manner
Treasurer – Liaise between accountant/registrar, cheque signing authority
Equipment Coordinator – equipment inventory management with team distribution and returns.
Volunteer Coordinator – Liaise with team managers to ensure volunteer duties are fulfilled, providing coach’s support, and coordination of casino volunteers.
Photo Coordinator – arranges for team/player photos, liaise between photographer and coaches/managers/team photo representatives.
Sponsorship Director – maintains present sponsors of SMSF and be willing to seek new opportunities.
These are merely guidelines to the volunteer roles as there may be other ways to support the teams and the organization. Some team based positions can be filled by a group of individuals to ensure coverage throughout the season.
Board Members are expected to attend a monthly meeting in addition to their specific duties for the term of one year.
